Eric Christian Olsen is a low-key guy, so it makes sense that he was taken aback by the outpouring of emotion from his friends at his June 23 nuptials with Sarah Wright.
“A lot of my buddies were crying,” the NCIS: Los Angeles star, 35, recently told PEOPLE with a surprised look on his face at the Television Critics Association summer tour in Beverly Hills. “I was like, ‘What is going on here?’ “
But as his small-screen costar Daniela Ruah puts it, “It was so wonderful. It was really, really wonderful, and 100 percent personal. And their vows were just, oh, to die for.”
Aside from the mushy-gushy stuff, Ruah says it was their fellow cast mates Renée Felice Smith and Barrett Foa who also made the wedding an event to remember.
“They started square dancing,” she explains. “And then all-of-a-sudden all of the guests at the wedding were on the dance floor square dancing to a bluegrass band that [Eric] had. It was so good. It was so, so fun.”
The ceremony, officiated by Olsen’s father, Paul, took place in the early evening with the Teton Mountains in the background and with guests sitting on haystacks.
“It was warm,” Ruah recalls. “We all had spicy margaritas. I loved it. I genuinely loved [Eric’s] wedding.”

Is he telling her a joke – or reading his self-penned vows? NCIS: Los Angeles star Olsen, 35, and actress Wright, 29, prepare to say “I do” with the blessing of Olsen’s father, Paul, who became ordained so he could officiate their June 23 nuptials near Jackson Hole, Wyo.
Olsen slipped a yellow gold band adorned with diamonds, designed by jeweler Jennifer Meyer, on Wright’s finger. Meyer designed a simple, elegant rose gold band for Olsen.
Talk about taking the next step: Olsen puts his best foot forward as the newlyweds, who met while shooting The Loop in 2006, share their first dance as husband and wife.
That’s one white-hot wedding party! Wright and her bridesmaids stun in a J. Crew gown and Ivy & Aster dresses, respectively. One day prior, the women joined the rest of the wedding party to go white-water rafting down the Snake River.
The sun sets on the couple’s barn – which provided the backdrop for their evening outdoor ceremony – as the groomsmen remove their Oakley sunglasses to take in the scenery from the horse corral fence. Olsen’s older brother David, who serves as his NCIS: Los Angeles stunt double, was his best man.
